Fall is a great time of the year to start your new home search! According to a survey conducted by ERA Real Estate, 40% cited the end of vacation season and a back-to-school mentality as reasons that their clients refocused on buying or selling their home. On top of that, 20% of brokers and agents cited that buyers wanting to be in a new home for the holidays as a major reason to buy during the fall, and 10% said financial motivation to purchase a home and take advantage of tax credits.

Makes sense right? What about first time home buyers? Researchers have found that nearly 27% of all first time home buyers are actually shopping in the fall. Traditionally with new home builders, a lot of people shopping the market can find great promotions and discounts during the fall season. This is a time for change and year end discounts. Savvy shoppers are always on the hunt for a good bargain, and it seems like the fall will bring that for you!

But what are the advantages of fall over spring? Many professional categorize the spring as the best time to shop for homes, but is that necessarily true? In spring, many are gearing up for their summer vacations, the kids are almost done with school and not the mention, the hot weather makes moving very sluggish and gruesome.
