Declutter your home! So maybe you missed the mark for Spring cleaning, we’re all busy right? Don’t stress! Creating organization without the hassle is here to save the day! Here’s what you can do:
- Toss out any expired coupons, flyers, old mail, and duplicate take-out menus
Often times, we keep these items piled up on the counter or in the junk drawer, so getting rid of them will instantly make your space neater without a lot of effort.
- Throw out or recycle plastic and paper bags
This one is self explanatory. They will multiply again, don’t fret!
- Wean out expired medications/first aid items in your medicine cabinet
Pill bottles and Band-Aid packages take up more space than you think. Throw out anything expired or questionable. Consider your sunscreen too, as it becomes ineffective beyond its expiration date.
- Get rid of old cosmetic products
I know this is a tough one, but most of the products you find yourself holding onto are probably no longer sanitary for daily use. Plus its an excuse to buy all new goods! Win, win!
- De-clutter your closet
It’s easy to overwhelm yourself right off the bat, so start small. Grab a large garbage bag and start with items you know you haven’t worn in a year. Once you start, you’ll be on a roll and more willing to part with things you’re not interested in anymore.
- Donate old magazines and books
If you find yourself holding onto old magazines once you’ve read them but they’re starting to take up too much space, this one’s for you. Keep 10 that you think you’ll refer back to and get rid of the rest. If you have an excessive amount of books that you won’t get to reading, donate those too or lend them to a friend. These are both bulky items that can take up a ton of space, so clearing them out will open up much more free space.
These are 6 very easy tasks you can take on when you have some down time. Once you start checking them off, your home will be in tip-top shape in no time!
