Revamping your home.

Revamping your room on a budget. Because sometimes you just tire of the decor you’ve invested in, but don’t feel the need to spend exorbitant amounts of money on new things. Here are some tips to revamp and totally change the look of your space without breaking the bank.

The first thing to do is to decide on a when revamping your space is new theme that will work with existing “big” items-these big items usually include couches, chairs, ottomans, rugs, coffee tables, lamps, etc. They are the things that make up the bulk of your room and serve as the bones for your new re-do. Some popular themes on Pinterest this year include Bohemian, Farmhouse, Black and White, and minimalist approaches.

Now, if you decide that some of your “big” items mentioned above simply just won’t work with the new theme you have in mind, don’t fret! There are ways in which you can do a little revamping and improve them to make them fit within your guidelines.

If you have a coffee table or side table that can be painted, consider picking up a can of chalk paint. You can easily paint these items and distress them to your liking, and voila! Your old table has just acquired a whole new look.

Another easy (and likely budget friendly) swap you can make is to add in a nice, textured throw rug. Or, if you already have one, swap it out for something new. A rug is a focal point of your room, so make sure to choose something you won’t get sick of because it is a major attention getter in your family room.

Additionally, it is likely that if you are just trying to revamp your room, you won’t be investing in all new furniture. A great, no-fail way to quickly change the look of your couch or chair is to invest in a nice throw blanket that you can drape down the side or across the back of your couch. It can also serve to mask any staining or damage your couch may have and make it look new again.

You can also easily pick up a few new throw pillows from your local home goods store-again, this is a small change that will have a huge payoff in the end.

If you have a large, fabric covered ottoman, consider covering it with a new fabric-anything that incorporates all of the components of your new theme.

Now that you have all of the big pieces out of the way, you can do some easy swaps for small pieces of decor. Consider purchasing a tray for you coffee table that you can adorn with candle holders, stacks of books, and coffee table clothes. You can pick up a new lamp at a local thrift store, spray paint the base and buy a new shade, as well. Lastly, you can pick up some new artwork, or revamp preexisting art by painting the frames a bright or metallic shade to accent your new family room.

All of the tips are a no-fail, budget-friendly way to change the look of your beloved family room. Happy revamping!
